To manage the day to day company affairs Chief Executive Officer is appointed by board of directors, and policy formulation and strategy implementation shall be closely monitored by the board of directors.

Other Departments:
a) The Clearing and Settlement Department
The Clearing & Settlement Department is responsible for providing continuous, effective and reliable clearing systems and facilities for the clearing, settlement and risk management of the market as well as development, maintaining and supporting relevant application systems used by clearing participants and investor participants.
Its other functions include:
- Ensuring that the settlement of delivery either in physical or cash takes place as per the byelaws and rules of the Exchange
- Monitoring all activities of clearing and settlement including funds, settlement, margin and delivery
- Ensuring execution of delivery and related processes
- Delivery and funds obligation generation
- Interfacing with the Clearing Banks and custodians
- Monitoring the settlement guarantee fund of the Exchange
- Monitoring the delivery centers
- Interfacing with warehouse managers for report on inventory and confirmation of delivery.
b) Compliance & Surveillance
The Compliance and Surveillance Department is responsible for providing legal advisory services relating to the business and affairs of the exchange. Its functions include advising on the legality of provisions introduced, amending and advising on the provisions of the rules and bye laws of the exchange, advising on effective case management of any litigation and arbitration involving any of the members, and advising on the statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to operational and administrative matters of the exchange.
Further more, it inspects books of accounts, and other related documents of members to check whether the membership is accepted with compliance to the bye laws and rules or not and also ensures that the Anti Money Laundering policy is followed by tracking if the fund flow is in line with the established, standard procedures.
c) Member Service Department
Member Service Department is basically concern with the procurement of new members and providing better service to the existing members through customer support and grievance handling. It is also involved in organization of various programs for creating market awareness and branding purpose.
d) Warehouse Department
The Warehouse Department is responsible for identifying prospective price vendors, warehouse locations and delivery vendors to facilitate the delivery mechanism of the exchange keeping all the prerequisites in mind. The department is responsible for conducting studies on local agro products for listing in the exchange trading platform.
Any commodity can be listed for trading based on the following features:
- Large demand and supply of the commodity
- No individual or group of persons should be in a position to influence the demand or supply, and consequently the price substantially.
- There should be fluctuations in price.
- The market for the commodity should be free from substantial government control.
- The commodity should have long shelf-life and be capable of standardization and gradation.
e) Research & Development Department
The Research & Development Department conducts research and surveys to support the development of NSE markets through a planned, systematic pursuit of new knowledge or understanding toward local spot market to meet a specific, recognized need for the enhancement of the platform facilitated and service provided at the exchange level.
